Mating of Express-AT1’s platform and payload
The ISS-Reshetnev-built Express-AT1 communications spacecraft is currently undergoing integration.
Being one of the key stages of a satellite manufacturing process, integration includes mating of payload to the satellite platform. This stage of Express-AT1 production was preceded by a series of tests which had verified performance capabilities of these modules.
The Express-AT1 telecommunications satellite, which is designed to operate in orbit for at least 15 years, is based on ISS-Reshetnev’s Express-1000H platform.
Express-AT1 is to cover the eastern and western parts of Russia providing advanced communications, television broadcasting and data transmission services. The satellite is due for launch in late 2013.
