Coming soon: launch of Express-AM8 satellite
the Express-AM8 satellite, designed and built by ISS-Reshetnev Company, was delivered to the Baikonur cosmodrome.
The telecommunications satellite Express-AM8 was safely flown to the launch site aboard an An-124-100 Ruslan cargo aircraft. Now it is ready to enter the next stage: preparations for the upcoming launch which is to take place in early April. All the necessary operations and procedures will be handled by ISS-Reshetnev specialists and the Baikonur cosmodrome technical team.
Express-AM8 was manufactured for the national satellite operator Russian Satellite Communication Company (RSCC) around ISS-Reshetnev’s medium-class platform Express-1000HTB. The satellite is fitted with 42 active transponders operating in C-, Ku- and L-bands.
ISS-Reshetnev’s latest satellite is intended to provide high-quality fixed and mobile communications, digital television and radio broadcasting, high-speed Internet access, data transmission, as well as presidential and government communications.
