Third Glonass-M for cluster 40 shipped to the cosmodrome
Glonass-M №32, the last of the three Glonass-M satellites intended for cluster 40, was shipped to Baikonur (Kazakhstan) from the JSC “Academician M.F. Reshetnev “Information Satellite Systems” on
The shipment of the satellite went off according to plan. This is the third Glonass-M spacecraft built for a group launch in cluster 40. The first two satellites were delivered to Baikonur in August.
All three Glonass-M satellites (№30, 31, 32) were built by the JSC “Information Satellite Systems” in accordance with the schedule set by ROSCOSMOS within the scope of the federal target program Global Navigation System. The satellites are now in preparation for launch.
Meanwhile the ISS-Reshetnev is busy building satellites for the next cluster (№33, 34, 35) to be launched by the end of the year. As a result, the Glonass constellation will be enlarged by six modernized Glonass-M spacecraft to provide wider coverage capabilities and higher navigational accuracy.
