Glonass-K undergoes electro-radio testing at ISS-Reshetnev
Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems has started Phase 1 of the electrical testing of the new generation Glonass-K satellite.
The electrical test campaign has been launched to verify performance of all the electrical equipment items installed into the satellite. For that end, ISS-Reshetnev has allocated a specially equipped test room to create the required conditions and parameters including temperature and humidity conditions for complex testing.
Upon completion of the tests, the satellite will be subjected to a complete cycle of environmental tests to verify its tolerance to various “actual” loads that the spacecraft will experience during transportation and launch.
Glonass-K is a new generation unpressurized navigation satellite designed for a lifespan of 10 years. The satellite is being built at ISS-Reshetnev to become the first modernized spacecraft in the current GLONASS constellation.
