60 years of proud history: ISS-Reshetnev celebrates anniversary

On June 4, 2019 Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems (ISS-Reshetnev Company) celebrates 60 years since its inception.

ISS-Reshetnev Company’s name is inextricably linked with the history of Russia’s most important space-based systems, complexes and satellites serving people from all types of orbits and providing a wide array of useful services. Over the years ISS-Reshetnev Company, which is widely known to be the Russian aerospace industry leader, has made more than 1280 spacecraft that became building blocks of more than 40 space systems.

ISS-Reshetnev Company today is the only Russian manufacturer of satellites for navigation, geodetic and data-relay purposes, and the producer of Russia’s most powerful telecommunications satellites. ISS-Reshetnev satellites help ensure national security, increase the efficiency of the country’s economic development and solve social needs.

The company is the main contractor for Russia’s national constellation of telecommunications satellites. The production of two new communications satellites – Express-80 and Express-103 – is currently nearing completion at the company, while the process of building another two ones – Express-AMU3 and Express-AMU7 – is in its early stage now. Express-AMU3 and Express-AMU7 satellites are scheduled for launch in 2020.

In parallel with telecommunications satellite projects ISS-Reshetnev Company keeps successfully developing its navigation business line. It is working on newest Glonass-K and Glonass-K2 navigation satellites that are expected to considerably increase the accuracy and reliability of the Russian GLONASS system and services based on its signals.

Celebrating the anniversary, ISS-Reshetnev Company is also organizing a great number of sporting events, cultural performances as well as official meetings to award its best employees in recognition of their significant contributions to their company’s mission. Representatives of local, regional and state authorities, partners, customers and ISS-Reshetnev Company’s management and employees are invited to attend these events. The company’s two-month III Space Art Festival included 14 diverse cultural events and will wind down on June, 8 with a performance of the Zemlyane band and festive fireworks.
