Progress of construction work at ISS-Reshetnev’s new A&F facility
Academician M.F. Reshetnev “Information Satellite Systems” is completing another phase of construction of its new facility intended for assembling and testing antennas and antenna & feeder systems.
Work on the thermal protection is nearing completion. So far, windows, doors and automatic gates have been installed as well as heating and ventilation systems.
The facility is to be tooled up and commissioned in September. Work place arrangements are planned afterwards. A special clean area for assembling and testing 5-meter antennas is scheduled for completion by the end of the year. It will be provided with a separate ventilation system and environmental control to ensure proper temperature and humidity levels.
In 2011 ISS-Reshetnev is going to continue the construction of 2 power control blocks, as well as reconstruction of the city’s electric power substation located in the same district as the company’s new production facility. The new A&F facility will allow the company to simulate weightlessness and carry out experiments and tests on advanced large-sized foldable mechanical systems.
