GEO-IK-2’s altimeter delivered

the JSC “Academician M.F. Reshetnev “Information Satellite Systems” was supplied with an altimeter and test equipment by Thales Alenia Space for the GEO-IK-2 geodetic spacecraft.

Representatives of Thales Alenia Space are expected to arrive at the JSC ISS in the nearest future to jointly conduct an acceptance test of the equipment. Upon completion of the test procedures the instrumentation will be integrated into the spacecraft (GEO-IK-2 №11).

The GEO-IK-2 satellites will join the Russian fleet of geodetic spacecraft designed to measure variations in the Earth’s gravitational field, to build a high-precision geodetic network in the geocentric coordinate system, as well as study continental plate motion, tides, the Earth’s rotation and coordinates of poles.
