New satellites for GONETS
Three satellites of the Gonets-M series have been released from storage at ISS-Reshetnev Company.
The Gonets-M satellites are now readied for their mission. ISS-Reshetnev team is currently carrying out check-outs of their subsystems to ensure the satellites’ readiness for operation in space. The satellites are due to fly to the Plesetsk cosmodrome in late September.
Gonets-M satellites are launched in batches of three to augment and update the orbital constellation of the GONETS-D1M multifunctional personal communications system. The main purpose of the system is to provide mobile and fixed communications around the globe.
ISS-Reshetnev Company works as prime contractor for the GONETS-D1M satellite system under the Federal Space Program of Russia.
