Science and Technical Council on Express satellites
On February 7, 2017 the first joint Science and Technical Council was held by Information Satellite Systems – Reshetnev Company and the Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC).
The joint Science and Technical Council was intended to provide a possibility for the two companies’ key figures to discuss prospects for further development of the Express satellites. The Express series represent satellites designed and built by ISS-Reshetnev Company for RSCC. The council meeting was also attended by representatives of the Federal Communications Agency, the United Rocket and Space Corporation and the Radio Research and Development Institute (NIIR).
The Science and Technical Council kicked off with the welcome speech delivered by Nikolay Testoyedov, general director of ISS-Reshetnev Company, and Yuriy Prokhorov, general director of RSCC. “Throughout 50 years of cooperation with RSCC we have been providing reliable communications and broadcasting services to millions of people living not only in Russia but in many other countries and cities all over the world. The key to our success are mutual efforts: ISS-Reshetnev working as a satellite manufacturer hand in hand with RSCC as a satellite fleet operator”, said Nikolay Testoyedov.
At the Science and Technical Council ISS-Reshetnev Company presented its recent solutions and proposals on the design, development and manufacture of payload modules for future satellites. Additionally, the meeting participants also discussed the way unpressurized satellite platforms Express-1000 and Express-2000 could be further advanced and used in various satellite construction projects.
The council program also included the discussion of the current trends and goals of developing the Russian national fleet of civil satellites and services they provide.
