Israeli satellite “Amos-5” will be manufactured by the JSC “ISS” in Zheleznogorsk
On in Tel Aviv, between the JSC “Academician M.F. Reshetnev” Information Satellite Systems” and Israeli communication statement SPACE-COMMUNICATION LTD. the contract on delivering the geostationary satellite system “Amos-5” on basis of “Express-1000H” platform was signed.
The contract foresees development and launching into orbit the satellite “Amos-5”, establishing the ground control segment, as well as providing services on personnel training and maintenance during operation. The Subcontractor on transponder and antennas is Thales Alenia Space. By the end of 2010 the joint international project should be realized.
For the JSC “ISS” that contract is a graphic evidence that the product of Siberian satellite builders is in demand in the world market of space services, which is distinguished with its strict competition. Successful performing of that order will allow the enterprise to participate in new large-scale international projects.
The JSC “Academician M.F. Reshetnev” Information Satellite Systems” (previously FSUE “NPO PM”) – one of the leading Russian enterprises in space industry, was established in 1959. Since that time, at the enterprise more than 40 space systems and complexes of different application were designed. More than 1160 spacecraft were manufactured at the JSC “ISS” facilities for operating in all types of orbits. At present, two third of the Russian orbital constellation consists of satellites manufactured by Reshetnev Company.
