ISS-Reshetnev and Thales Alenia Space established joint venture
Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems and Thales Alenia Space have created a joint venture that will focus mainly on the development and manufacture of satellite payload components.
Official registration of this joint venture, UNIVERSUM SPACE TECHNOLOGIES (UST), was successfully completed on August 5, 2013. Majority-owned by ISS-Reshetnev, it will be located in Krasnoyarsk.
Expert teams from both Russian and European companies will work at UST. It is expected that the new company will start production in 2014.
Creation of the joint venture marks successful completion of work that ISS-Reshetnev and TAS teams have been putting effort into for almost two years. And it is a significant milestone in the 20-year business relations between the two companies in the field of satellite building. Such cooperation aims to integrate space technologies on a global scale and increase competitiveness of jointly manufactured products and solutions in the international market.
