New equipment for satellite acoustic tests
ISS-Reshetnev Company ramps up its satellite testing capabilities with state-of-the-art equipment to be installed in the new acoustic chamber.
ISS-Reshetnev Company signed a contract with SEREME (France) that provides for the delivery, installation and acceptance testing of equipment intended for the company’s new acoustic reverberation chamber.
The new equipment includes sound generators with acoustic power amplifiers, a current parameters display unit and a safety system. This equipment is designed for acoustic loads modelling and analysis – these procedures are necessary to verify satellites’ ability to withstand vibration and acoustic loads they are exposed to during launch.
The new state-of-the-art equipment will be installed in the acoustic reverberation chamber having a volume of 1500 cubic meters that is currently being built at ISS-Reshetnev’s Assembly, Integration and Test Facility. When fitted with advanced high performance sound generators, ISS-Reshetnev’s acoustic chamber will become the most effective facility of its kind not only in Russia, but in Europe as well.
