Memorandum of intent signed with Armenia
Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems and the Ministry of transport and communication of the Republic of Armenia signed a Memorandum of intent which stipulates for signing of a contract for the development of a telecommunications satellite.
Signing of the document took place at the International aerospace exhibition Farnborough International Airshow-2012 in the UK.
The document provides for the possibility of signing a contract for the construction of a telecommunications and broadcasting satellite in the interest of Armenia. It is anticipated that the geostationary spacecraft with a 15-year active lifespan will be built around ISS-Reshetnev’s Express-1000H satellite platform. Technical specifications of the payload are to be specified when the decision concerning optimal use of the available orbital slots and operating frequencies is made.
The two parties have agreed to hold business meetings on a regular basis to coordinate pre-contract activities. The satellite construction contract between the Reshetnev Company and the Ministry of transport and communication of the Republic of Armenia is due to be concluded by the end of this year.
ISS-Reshetnev constantly enhances its presence in the international market. As of today, the company has successfully implemented two international projects with three more telecommunications satellites being currently under construction for foreign customers. In most cases these spacecraft are based on the Express-1000H platform. Being the leading Russian satellite manufacturer, Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems enters new markets and thus raises its international profile.
