New pre-launch preparation systems for ISS‑Reshetnev satellites
Information Satellite Systems – Reshetnev Company is working on new automated control systems to be implemented during satellites’ preparation to launch.
These automated satellite control systems which are currently under development at ISS-Reshetnev, will be used at Baikonur and Plesetsk cosmodromes from where Siberian satellites begin their journey to space.
The Reshetnev Company has already received a set of basic equipment intended for the system which will be installed at the Baikonur cosmodrome. Now this equipment is to go through a number of comprehensive acceptance tests and then it will be fitted up with additional instruments made by ISS-Reshetnev. It is expected that the new automated satellite control system will be completed and tested by this fall, and after that shipped to the cosmodrome. It will be the second ISS-Reshetnev’s complex of this kind available at the Baikonur cosmodrome and it is intended to considerably increase the company’s capabilities in preparing its own satellites to launch.
As for Plesetsk, ISS-Reshetnev is developing an automated satellite pre-launch preparation system intended for this cosmodrome for the first time ever. It is to replace previous versions of this equipment which are currently used to prepare ISS-Reshetnev’s satellites to launch from the Plesetsk cosmodrome. The new system is to be ready by late 2016.
