Intersputnik visits ISS-Reshetnev Company
ISS-Reshetnev Company received a delegation from Intersputnik – an international space communications organization.At a series of joint meetings ISS-Reshetnev specialists and Intersputnik representatives discussed opportunities for further cooperation in the field of satellite-aided communications. ISS-Reshetnev specialists presented to Intersputnik delegates the company’s extensive capabilities in designing and building telecommunications satellites with active lifespans of 15 years. In order to have a closer and more detailed look at ISS-Reshetnev Company, Intersputnik representatives toured the company facilities and visited its new Integration and Test Facility, as well as several assembly rooms.
The Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications was established in 1971 to operate a fleet of satellites that included Molniya, Horizont and Raduga satellites made by ISS-Reshetnev Company. Later new satellites augmented the space-based communications system, they were Gals and Express – also built by ISS-Reshetnev. Today Intersputnik leases capacity of Russian satellites and systems the majority of which also originate from ISS-Reshetnev Company.
