“Glonass-M” spacecraft operation goes on according to schedule
The work on commissioning three spacecraft, developed at the JSC “Academician M.F. Reshetnev” Information Satellite Systems”, into GLONASS system are being performed according to mission.
“Glonass-M” navigation satellites (##27, 28, 29) of #39 block were successfully orbited in December 25, 2008.
At present, the stage of correction and putting the spacecraft into given positions is being performed according to the approved schedule. For the spacecraft #27 that stage was finished on the 10th of January, and target equipment was switched on. It is planned, that the stage of correction and putting #28 S/C into given position will finish on the 14th of January, and for #29 S/C – on the 4th of February. After that, spacecraft’s target equipment will be switched on as well. During 9 – 10 days after putting satellites into specified positions, they will be prepared for implementation into the system.
It should be mentioned, that the specialists of MCC (Krasnoznamensk) under support of the JSC “ISS” Information-calculating complex, daily carry out two communication sessions with each of satellites. At present there are no claims to spacecraft’s systems operation.
