New satellites for Russia
Information Satellite Systems – Reshetnev Company has been chosen to build telecommunications satellites Express-80 and Express-103.
ISS-Reshetnev Company won a contract from the national satellite fleet operator Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) to design and manufacture two communications and broadcasting satellites.
The satellites are to be built around ISS-Reshetnev’s standardized medium-class platform Express-1000. Payloads for these satellites will be traditionally supplied by Thales Alenia Space.
The Express-80 and Express-103 satellites are intended to provide fixed and mobile communications, digital television and radio broadcasting, high-speed Internet access and data transmission services in the Russian territory.
The new satellites will become yet another contribution made by ISS-Reshetnev Company to solving a critical state task of strengthening and developing Russia’s orbital constellation of communications satellites.
