New landmark in cooperation between ISS-Reshetnev and SB RAS

ISS-Reshetnev Company and the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS) signed a cooperation program for the 2019-2024 period.

The new program of cooperation between ISS-Reshetnev Company and the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences was signed with the aim to set the goals and targets of joint work in the fields of technology development and innovations. The document was signed by Nikolay Testoyedov, general director of ISS-Reshetnev Company, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Valentin Parmon, academician, chairman of the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The program provides for the research, development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies and solutions aimed at improving the process of designing and building advanced satellites. Specifically, ISS-Reshetnev Company and SB RAS are going to work together to shorten satellite production time and costs, enhance satellites’ characteristics and reliability throughout long mission times of 15 years and more, and also foster the implementation of import-substituting technologies and R&D results. All these efforts are aimed at increasing the competitiveness of Russian satellites at the international market.

More detailed joint work between ISS-Reshetnev Company and SB RAS will be defined and carried out as part of various state and departmental programs involving the Technology Platforms “National Information Satellite System” and “Light and reliable structures”.

Coordinated by ISS-Reshetnev Company, the Technology Platform “National Information Satellite System” is a private-public partnership which helps bring together the government, business, industry and academia joining their efforts to support innovative development and modernization of Russia’s economy. The platform unites around 120 leading industrial companies and research organizations working together to build and use advanced space-based systems and complexes, as well as to increase Russia’s presence in the global satellite communications market. The Technology Platform “Light and reliable structures” is coordinated by S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation «Energia». It is an instrument of formation of scientific and technical policy oriented on the development of materials and technologies for the new generation of high-performance structures with increased efficiency, reliability, safety, strength and sustainability.
