Report to the President
General Director of ISS-Reshetnev gave a situation report on the current work and activities of the company to President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
On April 10, 2020 The President held a videoconference meeting on the rocket and space industry’s development amid the coronavirus pandemic. Opening the event, Vladimir Putin stressed that, “The rocket and space industry is certainly one of the most vital sectors of the national economy because it deals with issues that require work that is not interrupted and is carried out constantly”.
Nikolay Testoyedov, General Director of ISS-Reshetnev Company, reported that, “ISS-Reshetnev Company has organized the implementation of the 2020 state defense order under the limitations caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The necessary number of employees have been allowed to work, and all of them are provided with personal protective equipment”.
Then he continued talking about the upcoming launches of satellites built by the company. “The schedules of launching the already manufactured satellites are being carried out in full. In 2020 there were plans for ten satellites, and two of them have already been launched, two more are currently at the launch site, and the remaining are either in storage at the company’s facilities or are still being manufactured”, added Nikolay Testoyedov.
“In addition, the full scope of the state defense order for this year can also be implemented. Both in terms of the range of items (provided the research and development stages are adjusted), and the scope of work. To do that, data on the adjusted stages from the previous years, 2020 and the partially completed work for 2021 must be included. Thus, we need the Defense Ministry’s acceptance of work on the adjusted previous years’ stages by the enterprises, the work for the current year and 2021. Work with allied suppliers has been well organized, and there are no problems”, said Nikolay Testoyedov about the company’s work on the state defense order.
Closing the meeting, Vladimir Putin noted that, “the situation at the ROSCOSMOS State Corporation is changing. Slowly, but it is still changing for the better. We can see it”.
