The Express-80 put into operation
The telecommunications spacecraft Express-80 developed by Academician M. F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems started to be employed for its intended purpose.
The Express-80 satellite was commissioned by the customer based on the results of flight tests.
The spacecraft is located at 80 degrees east longitude of the geostationary orbit. It is designed to provide modern communications services, including mobile and fixed communications, digital TV, radio broadcasting and data transmission.
To fulfill these tasks, the Express-80 satellite is equipped with 38 active transponders operating in the C-, Ku- and L-frequency bands. The power supply for the payload is 6300 W. The mass of the spacecraft is 2100 kg.
The satellite Express-80 was developed by order of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Satellite Communication" and launched on July 31, 2020. The guaranteed service life of the apparatus manufactured on the basis of the Express-1000N medium class platform is 15 years.
