International project AMOS-5: Progress of work
ISS-Reshetnev is hard at work testing the AMOS-5 spacecraft being built for the Israeli service provider SPACE COMMUNICATION LTD.
So far, ISS-Reshetnev has achieved significant milestones in testing the AMOS-5 telecommunications satellite. AMOS-5’s engineering model was subjected to vibration and acoustic tests to verify the satellite’s structural integrity and mechanical performance. Integration tests on the AMOS-5’s OCS and AOCS are also complete as well as the test firing of the correction propulsion set.
At present ISS-Reshetnev is conducting integration radiotechnical tests of the satellite’s service systems module to check the interaction between its subsystems and their functional performance. The satellite’s software is in testing as well.
Thales Alenia Space is the subcontractor for the repeater and antennas. In May 2010 ISS-Reshetnev completed a payload module structure and supplied it to France. The French partners have already installed data relay equipment and are now conducting integration tests. The complete payload module will be delivered to ISS-Reshetnev in mid October.
