New production site of JSC ISS
A new test site has been commissioned at Academician M. F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems.
The new production site has been organized in the ISS spacecraft body assembly workshop. The main workplace is a thermal vacuum chamber TBK-110 designed for degassing and thermal cycling at temperatures from minus 140 ºC to plus 150ºC, as well as testing the tightness of knots and systems of spacecraft.
The TBK-110 chamber is equipped with a vacuum pumping system, a set of cryogenic screens, heat flow simulators with a system that allows you to simultaneously monitor and control 160 channels of thermometry and electric power supply. The internal dimensions of the chamber are: 7.5 mx 4 mx 4.5 m, the useful volume is 110 m³. A distinctive feature of the TBK-110 is the rectangular shape of the structure, which allows optimal use of the internal volume of the chamber when testing honeycomb panels.
“The TBK-110 camera will operate within 24 hours”, Alexander Sharov, head of the thermal vacuum testing department of the ISS Company said. "This is due to the large number of products manufactured by the enterprise which requires this kind of checks".
The commissioning of new equipment will make it possible to distribute the load on production sites as efficiently as possible, to ensure high quality and the required testing time for space technology.
