A reflector for Express-AMU7
ISS-Reshetnev Company for the first time will manufacture a reflector for a European company as part of a commercial telecommunications satellite project.
ISS-Reshetnev Company has started work on a flight model of a C-band reflector intended for the Express-AMU7 telecommunications satellite. The company, for which ISS-Reshetnev is building the reflector – Thales Alenia Space Italia S.p.A. under the terms of the Express-AMU7 contract is tasked with supplying the payload for the new satellite.
The reflector has a diameter of 2.4 meters and is intended for a C-band contour beam antenna which will be a part of Express-AMU7’s payload.
To date, ISS-Reshetnev Company together with Thales Alenia Space have already run a review of the results of internal qualification and additional tests of the reflector’s engineering qualification model which had been held in Toulouse (France) at various sites of European space companies. The test results have been agreed as successful.
The new Express-AMU7 satellite is being built by ISS-Reshetnev Company around its Express-1000 platform and will carry a payload designed and produced by Thales Alenia Space. The satellite is intended to augment the Russian national fleet of communications and broadcasting satellites.
