Construction of the Integration and Test Facility enters next stage
Pre-construction activities have begun recently at Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems, paving the way for the phase II of the Integration and Test Facility.
Phase II of the Integration and Test Facility will include special areas dedicated to thermal and vacuum, mechanical, electrotechnical testing of satellites. Phase II will have an area of more than 17 000 m2.
Pre-construction activities at this stage of the project include dismantling of an unfinished building near ISS-Reshetnev Company’s territory which was left abandoned in the early 1990s. Instead, there will be a car park providing 400-500 additional spaces for ISS-Reshetnev employees as well as a place where transportation containers (in which satellites are shipped) will be stored.
Within the framework of the Integration and Test Facility construction project in 2015 ISS-Reshetnev Company will augment its production facilities with an electrical steam-generating station to support technological processes in the workshop for galvano-chemical, varnish and paint coatings.
The facility will be built as part of ISS-Reshetnev’s efforts aimed at technical modernization of its assembly and test facilities. Phase I construction is to be completed in 2016, Phase II – in 2020.
The Integration and Test Facility is to become the largest production building at ISS-Reshetnev’s industrial site. It will have a total area of around 50 000 m2. The new facility will be large enough to accommodate two departments dedicated to the assembly and testing of satellites, which will help shorten their production times. Outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment and systems, the new facility will enable the company to take its satellites to a qualitatively new level.
