Session on space large-sized structures
ISS-Reshetnev Company organized a session dedicated to the “Large-sized foldable satellite structures” at the 23rd International Research and Practice Conference Reshetnev Readings-2019.
The session took place in Zheleznogorsk on November 13-15. This year’s edition brought together representatives of more than 80 rocket and space companies, research institutions and technical universities based in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Velikiy Novgorod, Orel and other Russian cities. It became one of the conference’s most attended sessions.
The topics of the “Large-sized foldable satellite structures” session was closely connected with one of ISS-Reshetnev’s main work areas, that is why the session participants were taken on a tour round the company’s production facilities before opening the conference.
The session participants presented more than 40 papers dealing with various aspects of building large-sized antennas, solar arrays, satellite mechanism and framework assemblies, and their materials.
The Research and Practice Conference Reshetnev Readings has been held since 1997 by the Siberian State University of Science and Technologies, where Mikhail Reshetnev, founder and first director of ISS-Reshetnev Company, Doctor of Engineering, Professor, taught technical disciplines. The conference’s main program takes place in Krasnoyarsk.
The session “Large-sized foldable satellite structures” was first introduced by ISS-Reshetnev Company as part of the Reshetnev Readings Conference in 2001. Innovative and breakthrough solutions presented at this session then find their application in real satellite design and production.
