New stage in Saft-ISS relations
The Siberian satellite manufacturer Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems and the French company Saft signed a frame contract for the supply of lithium-ion batteries for ISS-Reshetnev’s new spacecraft.
At the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum Nikolai Testoedov, General Designer and Director General of the Reshetnev Company, and Philippe Jehanno, Saft General Director, signed a frame contract for the supply of lithium-ion batteries for space applications. By applying the lithium-ion battery technology ISS-Reshetnev aims to considerably improve performance specifications of its spacecraft, in particular, the capacity of satellite platforms with no extra weight. The 3-year contract will also allow the company to optimize the value of its production.
At present Saft is fulfilling deliveries of lithium-ion batteries for a number of ISS-Reshetnev’s telecommunications satellites: AMOS-5, TELCOM-3, Yamal-300K, Express-AM5 and Expess-AM6.
