New test complex at the JSC “ISS”
A new up-today test complex has been put into operation at the JSC “ Academician M.F. Reshetnev “ Information Satellite Systems”.
The development of the complex was conditioned by the increasing volume of production and the use of new on-board equipment in the “ISS’s” perspective satellites: «Glonass -К», «Geo-IK-2», «Loutch -5А», «Loutch-5B» and «Аmos-5». Since the number of the equipment functions in these spacecraft has been considerably enlarged, there has appeared a need for new, much more complicated testing equipment.
The test complex involves four new working places, required for testing both separate items of the control unit and the whole apparatus. According to Alexander Lebevev, the “ISS’s” manager of the apparatuses and printed circuits development workshop, the work is in great progress. Regarding the development of on-board equipment, the workshop’s workload for the year of 2009 at a rough estimate makes up more than 200 %. Almost simultaneously there will be tests carried out to examine control units for S/C «Geo-IK-2», «Glonass-К», «Loutch -5» and «Аmos -5», which will require to create one more working place in the nearest future.
