Yamal-401: integration phase
Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems has begun integration of the Yamal-401 spacecraft.
The Yamal-401 telecommunications satellite is being built by the Reshetnev Company under a contract with Gazprom Space Systems. Based on ISS-Reshetnev’s heavy-class Express-2000 platform, it will weigh more than 3 tonnes and carry out its mission for 15 years in space.
The satellite is equipped with 53 C- and Ku-band transponders to provide seamless 24/7 coverage over Europe and Asia.
At this phase ISS-Reshetnev team is tasked with mating satellite payload to the bus followed by the complete range of tests of the fully integrated spacecraft. The tests will be conducted to verify proper operation of the satellite’s instruments and subsystems and, therefore, its readiness for launch.
