Several ISS-Reshetnev employees have been selected to take part in the Space Odyssey research and education project uniting talented young space industry professionals.
Seven ISS-Reshetnev employees aged under 34 will participate in the Space Odyssey project which is aimed at increasing the interest of young people of the Krasnoyarsk region in the space industry, activities, current projects and the cosmonaut profession.
The project which is planned to last for half a year will open up unique opportunities for its participants: they will attend theoretical courses on the history of Russia’s and global space industry, theory of space flight, spaceship design, its components and operation, and crew life-support systems. Apart from that, the project participants will undertake parachute and flight training. Some of the lectures within the theoretical course will be given by leading and most experienced specialists of ISS-Reshetnev Company.
All stages of the project will include exams and various competitions to select the most able-minded, quick learners who achieve outstanding results. Six finalists will be allowed to travel through virtual space at the Yury Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in the Star City (Zvezdniy gorodok).
The Space Odyssey project is implemented under the umbrella of the ROSCOSMOS State Corporation. This year 35 young people are part of the Space Odyssey representing rocket and space companies’ employees and senior students of the Academician M.F. Reshetnev Siberian State Aerospace University.
