Verification tests of the Amos-5 spacecraft
Academician M.F. Reshetnev “Information Satellite Systems” is proceeding with the activities on the Amos-5 program.
ISS-Reshetnev has recently completed another set of ground tests. So far the company has tested the antenna drive, the solar array deployment mechanism and the onboard control subsystem. Now ISS-Reshetnev is starting tests on the AMOS-5 engineering model.
The next stage will include verification of the attitude determination subsystem as well as mechanical tests of the satellite engineering model. As well as that, ISS will deliver the honeycomb structure for the payload module to Thales Alenia Space. The French team will integrate the repeater equipment and conduct tests on the payload.
ISS partner companies engaged in the AMOS-5 project are currently wrapping up qualification of the onboard equipment. Some of the companies have already started supplying flight-ready items to the Reshetnev Company.
