AMOS-5 payload delivered to ISS-Reshetnev

Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems has taken delivery of a payload for the AMOS-5 telecommunications satellite being manufactured for the Israeli satellite operator, SPACE COMMUNICATION Ltd.

According to the terms of the contract, the subcontractor for the repeater for the AMOS-5 program is Thales Alenia Space. Representatives of the French company have arrived at ISS-Reshetnev to jointly conduct the acceptance test of the French payload.

So far, TAS representatives together with the Reshetnev team have completed a visual inspection of the equipment and taken transportation sensor data. As soon as the incoming control is over, the repeater will be subjected to a series of electrical checks.

At the next stage, ISS-Reshetnev will integrate the repeater into the satellite platform. Thales Alenia Space is also manufacturing antennas for the AMOS-5 satellite whose delivery is scheduled for December 2010.

The AMOS-5 telecommunications satellite is being manufactured by Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems for the Israeli satellite service provider SPACE COMMUNICATION Ltd. The satellite has been designed to provide communications, broadcasting and broadband services to Africa and Israel. According to the terms of the contract, ISS-Reshetnev is responsible for the manufacture of the platform and PLM structure as well as the satellite in-orbit delivery. The contact also calls for the Reshetnev Company to provide the ground control segment, training services and in-orbit support.
