The contract on AMOS 5 satellite system delivery has come into force
2008 the contract has come into force, according to which the JSC “Academician M.F. Reshetnev” Information Satellite Systems” shall deliver the geostationary communication satellite system AMOS 5 to Israeli operator "Spacecom" (Space Communication LTD).
The contract was signed on July 30, in Tel-Aviv and came into force after all necessary conditions have been met. Advance payment was received by JSC “ISS” from the Customer - Israeli satellite communication operator "Spacecom" (Space-Communication LTD). The European company Thales Alenia Space is the main Sub-contractor of the Reshetnev Company. The sub-contract for delivery of payload equipment has come into force as well.
Nowadays, the negotiations between the JSC “Academician M.F. Reshetnev“ Information Satellite Systems” and Sub-contractors for platform equipment are being finalized.
According to the contract the JSC “ISS” will develop and deliver in-orbit AMOS 5 telecommunication spacecraft, create a ground control segment, as well as provide training of the Customer personnel and technical support during satellite in-orbit operation. The Project is based on improved high-efficiency middle-class platform named “Express-1000H” which has technical and operational performances more than twice exceeding “Express-AM” satellite platform. With the mass of 1.6 tons only AMOS 5 new satellite carries 36 transponders in C– and Ku – bands. The power for payload is 5.6 kW, lifetime is 15 years.
In AMOS 5 spacecraft design and manufacturing the Reshetnev Company is responsible for platform and payload module structure manufacturing. Moreover, the JSC “ISS” will integrate payload module itself, then platform and payload, as well as perform all required environmental tests at spacecraft level.
