Three “Glonass-M” spacecraft are successfully launched into orbit
On , a successful launching of the second triple of “Glonass-M” spacecraft, manufactured at the JSC “Academician M.F. Reshetnev” Information Satellite Systems” (Zheleznogorsk), took place at Baikonur launching site. The satellites are developed in accordance with “Global navigation system” Federal Goal Program.
“Glonass-M” spacecraft comprise of #39 block are successfully launched into circular orbit and taken under control by modernized MCC of Ministry of Defense in Krasnoznamensk, under support of specialists of the JSC “ISS” information-calculating complex. The first communication session with all satellites was performed in accordance with the schedule. All spacecraft systems status is normal and satisfies the mission.
The spacecraft are manufactured at the JSC “Academician M.F. Reshetnev” Information Satellite Systems” in strict accordance with schedule. The SC mass is about 1450 kg, lifetime is 7 years.
The launching of “Glonass-M” SC is the second one this year. The first triple of satellite was launched on 25th of September. Thus, the JSC “ISS” met its annual engagement on realization “Global navigation system” Federal Goal Program, and orbital constellation “GLONASS” is replenished with six more spacecraft. Commissioning the second triple of “Glonass-M” satellites will allow providing total-lot covering the territory of the Russian Federation with navigation signal.
