The ISS Company provides assistance to health professionals in the fight against COVID-19
Academician M. F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems will manufacture a new batch of components for oxygen therapy by order of Clinical Hospital No. 51.
To help Zheleznogorsk doctors who are fighting the coronavirus infection, the Reshetnev Company will make 700 needles for Bobrov's Apparatus. They are used in the treatment of patients with COVID-19 who do not require mechanical ventilation of lungs.
Special needles made of stainless steel were promptly developed at ISS in 2020, when the need arose for their use for oxygen therapy at Clinical Hospital-51 for the first time. The needles in an improvised version of Bobrov’s apparatus allow supplying humidified oxygen to patients.
Actg. Elena Beigel, Deputy Chief Physician for Medical Department of Clinical Hospital-51, notes that ISS products are unique and help save lives. “Now there is a third wave, and almost 80% of those who apply for medical help need oxygen. We are grateful to the ISS Company for the fact that you consider request and help. We need needles like air”, Elena Beigel stressed.
In total, during the coronavirus pandemic, the Reshetnev Company has already manufactured and delivered 1,050 components for oxygen therapy to Clinical Hospital No. 51.
