Chief designers meeting at the JSC “ISS”

at the JSC “Academician M.F.&bvsp;Reshetnev” Information Satellite Systems” premises (Zheleznogorsk) the meeting of Chief designers will be held. Nickolay Testoyedov, the General Designer and General Director of the enterprise will be the head of the meeting.

At the forthcoming Chief designers meeting the state of work execution on development spacecraft of different application will be considered. The representatives of sponsoring-agencies and enterprises of the Russian space industry will take part in the meeting.

The object of the Chief designers meeting is to coordinate the activities on the whole rate of enterprise and corporation’s subject, as well as forming the strategic decisions on spacecraft development. Besides, the results of work for 2008 are expected to be sum up, and tasks for 2009 will be defined. The Council will review the current state of spacecraft development according to each order and co-ordinate delivery schedule of parts to the JSC “ISS”.

The main issues for discussion are: implementation and modernization of GLONASS orbital constellation within the Federal Target Program “Global Navigation System”, including manufacture and launching Glonass-M spacecraft, as well as Glonass-K prospective spacecraft development. The participants of the meeting will review the execution of work on development satellites within the Federal Space program: Gonets-M spacecraft of Gonets-D1М multi-functional system of personal satellite communication, and Loutch-5А/5B and Loutch-4А relaying satellites. During the meeting the issues of realization the project on development AMOS 5 telecommunication satellite for SPACE COMMUNICATION LTD. Israeli communication operator, will be discussed. In addition, the volume of work on developing Express-4000 perspective satellite platform will be defined. The platform is the basis for developing commercial geostationary communication spacecraft and telecommunication satellites of a heavy class.
