Gonets-M satellites in orbit
A batch of three Gonets-M satellites, designed and built by ISS-Reshetnev Company, was successfully launched on September 28.
A Soyuz-2 rocket with a Fregat upper stage carrying the Gonets-M satellites lifted off from a launch pad at the Plesetsk cosmodrome at 14:20 Moscow time.
The satellites routinely separated from the upper stage at the assigned time. The telemetry obtained showed that their mechanical subsystems had deployed and early orbit operations had successfully completed. Now the satellites are undergoing check-outs of their onboard equipment.
Three Gonets-M satellites are small satellites launched to augment the orbital constellation of the Gonets-D1M multifunctional personal communications system. It is used for a wide array of services, including ecological, industrial and scientific monitoring, communications in remote areas and government communications solutions.
