Ten years of fruitful work
December of 2020 marked 10 years of successful implementation and development of the technology platform "National Information Satellite System".
Initiated and now coordinated by ISS-Reshetnev Company, the technology platform "National Information Satellite System" was established in 2010. It was included in the list of 27 technology platforms approved by the Government Commission on High Technologies and Innovations of the Russian Federation. The "NISS" technology platform is headed by Nikolay Testoyedov, general director of ISS-Reshetnev Company, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Over the past ten years, the number of platform participants has grown from 17 to 134. The total amount of funding allocated to innovative projects that the platform members are carrying out within the framework of the strategic research program today amounts to more than 8 billion rubles.
The strategic research program of the "NISS" platform includes more than 150 proposals covering research, development and experimental projects aiming to develop space information systems and increase the competitive advantages of domestic space technology in the world market.
It's planned that the "NISS" platform will go further and be followed on by the Comprehensive Scientific and Technical Program of the full innovation cycle "Global Information Satellite Systems". Development of this program is due to be completed by the end of 2020.
A technology platform is a form of public-private partnership and unites participants of any organizational and legal form and form of ownership, including state institutions, professional associations, non-governmental organizations, scientific and higher educational institutions. It is an effective tool for forming scientific, technical and innovation policies aimed at the development and modernization of the Russian economy.
