Professional skills championship based on WorldSkills standards
Information Satellite Systems – Reshetnev Company is gearing up for the professional skills championship which is to be held at the company for the first time in accordance with the WorldSkills international competition’s standards.
ISS-Reshetnev’s skills competition this time will include the practical part only, and its participants will compete in six skill categories. Participants will be divided into two age groups: those under 26 and 34.
Drawing on expertise and experience of the international WorldSkills competition, experts representing leading ISS-Reshetnev specialists are currently compiling a list of tasks, working on technical specification and evaluation system for each of the competition’s skill category.
This year ISS-Reshetnev’s championship will be also open for representatives of engineering professions: “Engineering graphics CAD” and “Prototyping”. Young workers will compete in the following skills: lath work on CNC machines, milling work on CNC machines, and electronics. It is also the first time the “Welding technology” skill category is included in the championship program.
Depending on the type of skill, competitors will have one or several days to perform their tasks. Professional skills championship will be held at ISS-Reshetnev Company on September 19-24, 2016.
The new format of ISS-Reshetnev’s professional skills championship will help the company thoroughly train and prepare its specialists and workers for their successful participation in industry-wide, national and, in the longer term, global phases of the international WorldSkills competition which is a flagship event in the field of skills excellence giving visibility and importance to professional education.
